Freshwater fish and freshwater plants (Schweizer-Reneke) are available in an amazing variety of shapes and sizes. We offer one of the widest varieties of freshwater fish in the NW, if not the widest variety. Albie Trosky has many years of experience in fish husbandry, and every aquarium in our fish room receives expert care daily. You can buy our healthy live fish, plants and invertebrates direct from him with confidence.

Angelsfish

Freshwater angelfish belong to the Cichlidae family, and come in a variety of color forms, and fin lengths.

Bettas

Bettas (Siamese Fighting Fish)

The Betta or Siamese Fighting Fish is one of the most popular aquarium fish. Betta fish are small fish and the males have long, flowing fins. These fish are air breathers, therefore they need access to the surface of the water.

These are my most favorite carpeting plant. It’s tough, hard-working, and a healthy carpet of DBT looks beautiful. As a bonus, they’re producing oxygen.

Dwarf Hairgrass

Dwarf Hairgrass

The aquascaping possibilities are endless with this type of plant. It looks beautiful next to Stone. Dwarf Hairgrass is incredibly easy to grow.

Sagittaria is a thin, grassy-looking plant. The leaves are green with some areas of reddish brown. It will work well as a foreground plant or lined along the sides of aquariums. This plant grows slowly and can grow to over a foot in length.

Java Fern is a hardy plant that tolerates a wide range of conditions. This plant reproduces in runners and by growing new plants at the tips of mature leaves. Java Fern attaches easily to wood or rocks, or may be planted loosely in gravel.

Java Moss is fairly undemanding, non-invasive structures that are actually made from algae shaped by wave action. Moss are low maintenance, tolerating a wide range of water conditions and tolerant of minimal lighting, they thrive better in moderate lighting).

Marsilea minuta is one of the most popular foreground plants for aquariums. (Gelid Waterklawer) is a popular aquatic plant among the pet fish lovers. It is rooted plant with erect petioles and emergent leaflets. The leaflets float on the water surface.

pogostemon helferi

Pogostemon Helferi

Pogostemon helferi (little star)(5-10 cm tall and wide) is an unusual and distinctive aquatic plant with a compact habit, curly leaves and a strikingly beautiful green colour.

pygmy chain sword

Pygmy Chain Sword

The small, almost grasslike Chain Sword is ideal for a foreground cover. This "pygmy" variant stays shorter and has thinner leaves than other Chain Swords. The small size is best maintained in high lighting.
